CD Reviews

Captivating and Original

"This music is so captivating; I had no choice but to buy this CD. It is unlike anything I've heard before-- Peter Adams has created wonderful soundscapes with cool rhythmic pulse, smooth and crafted vocals, tight guitars, eerie synth effects, and gorgeous, emotional violin choruses. Combined with excellent hooks, melodies and lyrics, the resulting album is amazing.

It is very difficult for me to choose a favorite track (they are all very excellent), but I thoroughly enjoy "Cemantalisque", "I Evolve", and "The Disappeared".

->One should note that this disc includes a bonus track entitled "Listen Harmony", which is also one of the best.

I encourage anyone interested in "The Spiral Eyes" to listen to samples of these songs at www.peteradamsmusic.com, where you can hear several minute-long excerpts. The music speaks for itself.

With this album Peter Adams shows true mastery of his unique sound and delivers a remarkable sonic experience. Hear him now so you can brag when he goes platinum."
This is the CD to buy...

"...if you only buy one CD in all of 2005! Peter Adams demonstrates a mastery of songwriting with original lyrics and sometimes unusual phraseology. His melodies are catchy and they invite the listener to partake in the experience of his music. His proficiency with his instruments is only acquired with a lot of hard work on top of the talent he possesses. And much more hard work had to go into the home production that weaved the tapestry that is this album.

Vocals? No I didn't forget...I saved the best for last. It is Peter's voice that makes the whole album. All of the other elements combine to add a beautiful backdrop for the vocals that truly deserve the spotlight of center stage. It doesn't matter what the words are that he's singing...it's his voice that is captivating.

Because Peter does everything himself, he can truly be classed as an "Indie" musician. And if "indie" music is a separate genre, then Peter's music defines that genre and raises it to a very high level. Using "The Spiral Eyes" as a benchmark may seem unfair to other artists, but a new standard has emerged.

A Rare Find: Beauty, Harmony and Intelligence

"Tired of empty pop crap produced by corporate bean counters selling the next "surefire formula" to a narrow marketing demographic? Check this out. This guy's the real deal, a true muscian with something to say, who says it beautifully with haunting melodies and lyrical intelligence. Highly recommended."
