Best known for writing the lyrics to many of Cream's major hits, 'Sunshine Of your Life', 'White Room', 'I Feel Free', 'Politician', Brown also worked with the band Piblokto, The First Real Poetry Band featuring guitarist John McLaughlin and the poets Allen Ginsberg and Robert Creeley.
