Beautiful orchestra sounds, no words.

"Inside cover has adorable original liner notes from both musicals. Begins "Camelot, the fabulous new musical..." Did expect words as well as music, now I'll have to buy another CD before I see the show next week."

"Oh, "THE SIMPLE JOYS OF MAIDENHOOD" along with "I WONDER WHAT THE KING IS DOING TONIGHT", both from CAMELOT have that stirring emotion from the wonderful string arrangements by Maestro Percy Faith...who can forget the opening few chords from the title tune "CAMELOT", beautiful orchestration to give this an unforgettable place in the American Theatre.Faith has the uncanny ability to use every piece of his orchestra as one instrument, taking you always on that musical journey into a fantasy land of enchantment...know of no other arranger for strings, who has that same effect on me...can only describe Faith's music as a God-given-talent, that he uses to entertain and yes, even mesmerize his listeners...take for instance the cue "FOLLOW ME", what sweeping and engulfing tones and moods, almost like colors in the rainbow. One only needs to sit and soak up my favorites picks ~ "I LOVED YOU ONCE IN SILENCE", harpsichord is used to create the velvety mood, as strings answer to counterpoints of harmony..."WOULDN'T IT BE LOVERLY", intro is slow and to the point, as the entire orchestra comes through with solid enchantment..."THE RAIN IN SPAIN", anyone for a tango, shows both sides of Faith's arrangements as it builds into plucking of violins..."I COULD HAVE DANCED ALL NIGHT", this is Faith in his finest hour, as mood switches back then forth with a dance-a-ble tempo..."SHOW ME", gives the percussion section a workout, upbeat with each section bringing full body arrangements from the baton of conductor Faith.Final pick is the highlight ~ "I'VE GROWN ACCUSTOMED TO HER FACE", dream-like and beautiful tones emerge from this heartfelt song, one of the best from that show...so if you're into Musicals and Broadway Shows, this one's for you...and don't forget "GET ME TO THE CHURCH ON TIME", has Faith pulling out all the stops and then some, gotta love it!Total Time: 67:14 on 23 Tracks ~ Collectables Records COL-5832 ~ (1997)"
