"The reason his CD " Garden of Forking Paths" was in a discount store is that it was recorded in Europe in the early 90s, and got shipped to Daves Dollar with a bunch of other imports. Thank God it wasnt listed in Amazon.coms " Sellable Cd " area, because I would have sold it without ever opening it.The picture of the old guy on the cover reminded me of Old Bull Lee, Wm. Burroughs, and I really thought it was some arty poetry or something. When i played it the first time, I was blown away. EVERY song touches some deep dark crevice in my system.I actually play guitar for a living down in Mississippi, and I NEVER listen to the words of songs. to me they'vs always been the wasted space between guitar rides. But with this guy, I listen.I'm also a recovering junkie/drunk, been clean 18 years, so I think thats why his perspective grabbed my attention.PLUS, this is just GOOD DAMN ROCK music. NOT retro, not techno, it just IS what it IS. I ordered Love is a Gas, and its JUST AS GOOD. Its not the squeaky clean love CD that I've seen other people say it was.It is a little more laid back at times, but his words cut deep....I ordered 2 more Cds yesterday, I cant seem to get enough.PAUL K , wherever you are, you caused a 51 yr old exjunkie, exhippie, effects pedal addict to actually STOP and LISTEN."
