"Paul Davis was a gifted man. I ordered this CD for just a couple of songs, but remembered the other wonderful songs once I heard them again. Most will remember "I Go Crazy" from 1977. It got as high as #7 on the Billboard charts and spent 40 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100. His highest charting song was " '65 Love Affair", which got as high as #6. He released several songs in between those - "Darlin' ", "Sweet Life" and "Do Right". I had completely forgotten about "Do Right". What a treasure! When I heard "Ride 'Em Cowboy", which was released in 1974, I was taken back to high school. In the era of music like Grand Funk's "We're an American Band", I remember not giving it a whole lot of thought. I have a whole new appreciation for the song now.



If you are a fan of Paul Davis - even if you only know a couple of his songs - I recommend this CD. The sound quality COULD be better, but it's not bad. It's just not up to the quality of some of the CDs you'll hear today that have been "digitally remastered". This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I saw that note from another reviewer before I bought it and decided to buy the CD anyway. I'm glad I did. I've listened to the CD several times - start to finish - in the short amount of time I've owned it.



Buy it - you won't be disappointed."

"Paul hit me between the eyes, with "I GO CRAZY" hauntingly truthful about the girl that dumped you politely. Now the pain comes back when you accidently bump into her again.OUCH!! Most of this C.D. are songs Paul charted with (i'd actually forgot he had so many) and the songs he covered , he covered like he owned them. No frills,Just straight-up, sincere, TERRIFIC SINGING. Now that you've found it, don't let it go.BUY BUY BUY !!!"
