Synopsis

Amazon.com
Tunes such as the slinky "Foolish Ways," the lazy anthem "Car Song," and the ultra-catchy folk-rock ditty "What Holly Sees" are more subtle and endearing than anything on the group's indie debut, Bring It Down. Mary Lorson's vocals have the rough and tumble appeal of vintage Chrissie Hynde, and her partnership with tasteful and inventive guitarist Billy Cote exemplifies the sort of mixed gender teamwork that's been so sorely lacking in the world Liz Phair calls "Guyville." --Jim DeRogatis

CD Reviews

The most overlooked indie album/band ever?
charlie whittaker | arcadia, florida USA | 07/12/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I can't believe that as I look here there's been one review since 1994 and the sales rank is 214,000. It's probably not even available anymore. Talk about forgotten! This was an underground classic of it's time. Light, airy, enjoyable. Great background music, with just enough pep to step it up from their more popular contemporaries The Sundays and Mazzy Star."
