Singer-guitarist-songwriter Matthew Smith has matured into a composer who draws on the past without being trapped by it. These songs bristle with immediacy, with nary a hint of nostalgia to be found. While this kind of nostalgic, fun pop music may not be for everyone-but for those who yearn for a return to the happy-go-lucky days of Top 40 music...this record will change their worlds.
