CD Reviews

Eleven splendid selections that flow together wonderfully.

"This album has a song for every occasion, and yet, only a few radio stations around the United States have acknowledged it. I have spent several months trying to describe this album in terms that do it justice but have come to the conclusion that only the music itself can achieve that feat. In any case, the long awaited successor to "Libido Speedway" is a delight from start to finish. The title track is the hardest and guaranteed to get one's adrenaline flowing. It leads into the triumphant power pop of "Electric," followed by the buoyant satire of "Radio Whore." The middle of the album alternates from the mellow and pretty ("Fade Away" and "Touch Me") to the fast and furious ("Beautiful" and "Over"). Although the remaining tracks are increasingly sombre, "Satellite" closes on such an uplifting note that the listener will come away both refreshed and reassured, in a sense. I have yet to meet anyone who dislikes this album, and with good reason: it is a labour of love long in the making, and not some rush job intended by corporate executives to sell posters, as are so many releases today."
Excellent finale to a much loved band.

"XLR8R is an excellent album. I picked up my copy at one of the last performances they played in Vermont. From what I understood from talking with the members of the band after the gig, the CD was basically an independent project and they had put a lot of time and energy into it. You can tell just by listening. They had been a favorite of the local VT alt-rock station and always made a guest appearance whenever thay were playing or passing through. After hearing their music both live and recorded, and seeing them on stage, it was very sad to hear that they were going to break up after their last venue on tour. I guess 2 of the 4 band members were going off to persue their careers. I rescently moved to the west coast and from time to time I get home sick but all I have to do is slap this CD in and I'm back in New England in a small dark bar having a drink with some old friends."
Orbit comes through again !

"Great album, again. Tremendous musicianship, incredible hooks and very imaginative lyrics. I don't know why some great bands never find an audience and so many crappy bands sell millions. However, in this case, a truly great band went overlooked. This album is a little more mellow than "Libido..", but the same great sound is evident from track 1 to the last. This band is hypnotic-grunge (with a little less grunge this time around). Moreover, this CD contains some nice video footage. Although this band really only released two albums, they will forever be one of my favorites."
