CD Reviews

Great stuff!

"This is a great power metal album! It's even better than Onward's first CD, Evermoving. Toby Knapp's guitar skills are incredible, and he comes up with many catchy riffs and insane solos! Michael Grant put in some nice melodies and lyrcis as well. It's mainly power metal, but there is some variation in there. My favorite tracks would have to be Reawaken, Night, Who Saw the Last Star Fall, Eye of the Nightmare, and both "The Next Triumph" tracks. The music is very catchy and it's not just a CD you play a few times. I listen to them almost every time I am in my car.It also comes with a Power Metal Sampler CD with 11 tracks from bands such as Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, and others. Every song on there rocks as well! This album is great! It's also a good deal, since you get the extra CD!"
Too bad these guys split up!

"Onward was truly a one-of-a-kind power metal outfit. Instead of following the traditional (and rather generic) verse-chorus-verse-chorus pattern, they tried to do more original structures. Also, I must say that I am wholly impressed with the singer (Michael Grant) and, above all, the guitarist (Toby Knapp.) Both drove the band. It's not that bassist Chris Payette and drummer Jon Pereau aren't important, but they just don't seem to be as big a deal. Anyway, all I can say is that this album expressed talent greater than the debut, 'Evermoving,' and that the production is a million times better as well. I would recommend it to someone who's looking for something by a band who would probably be obscure in a few years. But also, I would recommend it in general."
I cant stop listening!

"have had this cd for a while now and i still find myself listening frequently. i buy lots of cds but this one still remains in the "whats new" pile. each song has its own irrasistable groove and hook. this band has a rather unique sound, sort of like english folk meets thrash metal. at times they sort of remind me of early exodus minus the gruff vocals. excellent musicianship throughout and some really smokin guitar riffs make for a five star second release."
