Jordan's return a triumph!
D. L. Worthing | Arundel, Maine United States | 08/24/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Jazz guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan's long absence from the music world is over.

Featured on the Italian jazz group Novento's newest release, Jordan's return is stellar.

Along with Novecento the disc also includes musical guest appearances by Randy Brecker on trumpet, Danny Gottlieb on drums, Dave Liebman on tenor sax and Guy Barker on flugel horn.

It is a well rounded disc of smooth jazz and electrifying playing by one of jazz's best guitarists.

Welcome back Stanley. It good to hear you and to have you back in the jazz world.

He sounds great! This cd is proof of his successful return."
Just picked it up...Glad I did !!!!!

"Everyone remarks how happy to see Stanley Jordan return. Agreed. More importantly, I just got introduction to several new musicians and heard from other well knowns. Several notable tracks, Track 2 features the smooth guitar licks of Jordan. Track 6 maybe the best as Jordan demonstrates the sound that he grabbed attention with..smashing & flying guitar licks with a song title "Spring", Brecker's trumpet magically appears during same tune. Track 7 has a blues atmosphere and is the titletrack Dreams of Peace. What a worthy title."
Disappointed

"I bought this CD without knowing Stanley Jordan was just a guest. I had never heard of Novecento. I thought it was the CD title. Anyway, I was very disappointed with the music. If you are a fan of Stanley Jordan, I wouldn't recommend it. His early works were much better. The music on this CD sounds corny to me. It's not even smooth jazz. Despite the good quality of the recording, I liked none of the tracks."
