Nicola Frisardi has performed all over the world in the most important music centers such as the Konzerthaus (Vienna), the Wigmore Hall (London), the Louvre (Paris), the Herkulessaal (Munich), the Festspielhaus (Salzburg). He also played in Rome, Milan, Geneva, Zurich, Barcelona, Tokyo? He played as soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the A. Rubinstein Philharmonic (Lodz), the Camerata Academica (Salzburg), the Mozarteum Orchestra, the Südwest Deutsche Philharmonic, the Czech Philharmonic and the München Symphoniker. Nicola Frisardi was born in Bari (Italy), where he first studied by Marisa Somma. A grant from the Italian government enabled him to continue his studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He was student of Hans Leygraf and took part in the masterclasses of Ttiana Nikolajeva, György Sebök and Elisabeth Leonskoja. Nicola Frisardi obtained several prizes in international competitions, including third prize in Casella (1987), silver medal in Barcelona (1980), the special Bärenreiter Prize in the ?Mozart Competition? in Salzburg (1985). He was unanimously awarded first prize in the ?International Invittional Piano Competition? (Palm Beach, Florida 1989). This led to invitations to perform throughout the United States (Lincoln Center, New York; Jordan Hall, Boston; Kennedy Center, Washington; Philadelphia?) Nicola Frisardi teaches piano at the University Mozarteum and gives masterclasses in Japan, United States and Italy. His repertoire includes most classical composers, impressionistic and modern ones (Debussy, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Busoni, Berio, etc.). He has recorded for Austrian, German, Italian, Spanish, American and Japanese radio and television. Besides his solo career he is also the pianist of the ?Salzburg Piano Trio? playing many concerts around the world. Deutsche Grammophon recorded live his debut in Tokyo. Nicola Frisardi also recorded for EMI, BMG Classics, Chesky, Doppio Movimento and VAI Audio (Brahms? ! 1st Piano Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, concuctor H. Graf).
