"This was an additional cd when buying the 2008 New Year Vienna concert. I enjoyed the cd and thought that it was a great deal. Hearing the clear interpertation of the Strauss family by von Karajan was a delight. Starting at the "Die Fledermaus" overture and ending with the Radetzky March are another 12 superbly performed pieces. My favorite one is the interperation of "Fruhlingsstimmen" with the amazing Kathleen Battle singing. She is one of those sopranos that just makes you want to hear more! Her voice is clean and bright. The recording has the quality that few companies like Deutche Grammophon can provide. Overall this recording is fun and a great value for the classical music lover."
