Synopsis

Album Description
Twenty five years after they first formed and more than five years since the release of their last studio album, The New Christs deliver their brand new album Gloria. It has been an interesting journey since Radio Birdman front man Rob Younger formed The New Christs in 1984 to support Iggy Pop on his Australian tour of that year. A number of single releases featuring several line ups of friends followed before the band recorded and released their debut album Distemper in 1989. First studio album since 'We Got This' in 2002 on Laughing Outlaw.

CD Reviews

Rob Younger returns with a PUNK attitude! That's a GOOD thin

(5 out of 5 stars)

"WOW-has it really been 3 years since Radio Birdman's fantastic comeback "Zeno Beach". Anyways, here's the most underrated singer that's still rockin out, and rockin great-(sorry Ian,David,Ray,Chris,Phil and Robin), Mr.Rob Younger's other band from Australian Hell "The New Christs". These guys burn like a band possessed, on a mission to make a statement about adult rock n roll SEX. When he sings "Daddy's callin" you know he's not talking to his cute little daughter. In "Psych Nurse" he mentions God's a joke, but does he really mean "a joker" ,which makes more sense. You the listener can ponder this question, and a thousand other interesting lyrics written by this masterful writer by simply buying this CD. Rob Younger should be as huge as Iggy and his band kicks it all along with rock n roll precision. In a way this could be the sequel to Them's and The Shadows of Knight's gem "Gloria". This is what it's like 40 years on for the love affair Rob's had for Gloria ever since she came walking up his stairs, knockin upon his door, and came into his room. (I might be crazy saying that but it sounded pretty cool). This rocks like crazy and this music deserves to be praised and heard! They are the New Christs!"
