Namgyal Lhamo is an exponent of Avant-Garde Traditional/Classical Tibetan singing. A former Teacher and student of TIPA (Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts), Namgyal is a complete musician and is accompanied onstage by her signature Tibetan Lute. Her songs often reflect the spirit of Tibet and it's people through the metaphorical pathway of sound and landscape. Namgyal Lhamo's training over the years has given rise to an exclusive sound that emits multi-layering within her singing. Her new opus : "pure" is a tribute to the very core of Tibetan traditional sound. Namgyal Lhamo has been awarded The Best Female artist at the Tibetan Music Awards, 2007.
