CD Reviews

N-Touch hits the Mark!

"This album is great! A must have for contemporary jazz lovers. N-Touch comes out on all cylinders from the start of this album with the title track N-Touch, which is reminiscent of early Jeff Lorber work. The latin flavored cut, Hasta Luego, features beautiful solo work from drummer Anthony Jones and percussionist Bruce Smith, of Pleasure fame! And, I loved the interplay between saxophonist Eldon T Jones and guitarist David Allen on fusionesque Rush Hour. This song reminded me a bit of Spyro Gyra...The Bossa Nova, percussion filled ballad, Passages, really shows the great versatility of this group...and finally, I truly loved the gospel influenced song Coming Home, which displayed the heart felt sax of Jones...reminscent of a young Grover Washington or Kirk Whalum. Based on this debut CD, the best is yet to come for this group!! I strongly recommend this CD to all jazz lovers out there."
Nice Touch!!

"I heard about this group from a listener who e-mailed me and thought I should check this group out. I'm glad I did because this jazz group is hot!! N-Touch is based out of Portland, Oregon and have been very popular in their region. The debut CD is chock full of awesome rhythms and beats. The title track is incredible as it reminds me of something out a Crusaders album. Much of the album has a mixture of not only Smooth Jazz, but Latin & Gospel as well. It's a refreshing difference to hear in a recording such as N-Touch. Very original!! I see bigger and better down the road for this group. Buy it and enjoy!!"
