"This CD is somewhat unusual. As a tribute to violinist, Jascha Heifetz; pianist, Ayke Agus, has put together a collection of some of the original piano compositions from which Heifetz created transciptions for the violin. Whatever the excuse, this is a very pleasant collection of mostly familiar piano pieces.Heifetz would have enjoyed these performances, for in addition to being one of the world's great violinists, he was also quite accomplished as a pianist, being praised in this regard by no less a piano luminary than George Gershwin. As such, this CD is a fiting tribute to him and enjoyable to experience."
