This edition of our Musica Original de Cuba series focuses on the legendary percussionists of Cuba. Nelson Padron, aside from reaching millions of people on the nationally syndicated "Sabado Gigante" for the past twenty years, has been one of the most in demand session drummers and has played on thousands of sessions ranging from classic Rock to Latin Jazz. Joining him on this disc is the legendary Paquito Hechavarria, famous for his piano riffs on Gloria Estefan?s "Conga" and also as session player extraordinaire. The two masters joined together for this recording ? which serves as an example of some of the most explosive Latin Jazz ever recorded. As an added bonus we have included rare tracks from the great Cuban bandleader Luis Santi joined by the world class percussionist Carlos "Patato" Valdés. Also, as an extra added bonus, we have included tracks from the legendary Afro-Cuban master percussionist Lázaro Plá, better known as "Manteca", to add a fitting finale to this glorious disc.
