CD Reviews

An Incredibly Moving Performance
Richard O Milam | Kansas City, Mo | 10/05/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I own a version of Misa Criolla by Ramirez with Carreras as the tenor. Although I like his rendition of Misa Criolla, the rest of the piece was not involving and I didn't care for the music. This performance completely blew me away. There is a level of involvement with the musicians that is absolutely wonderful. The recording is beautifully done with great intimacy and a marvelous ability to convey the emotion of the performance."
This CD is a hidden treasure

"This music is truly touching. Ariel Ramirez was brilliant in writing it, Juan Pedro Gaffney was inspired with his interpretation and direction of it and the Coro Hispano de San Francisco's singing is powerful and emotional. I don't normally listen to music of this genre, but this CD goes down as one of my all time favorites. It's beautiful from beginning to end, every track. Whatever kind of music you prefer, you owe yourself a listen to this CD."
