American composer Joseph Schwantner (b. 1943) won the Pulitzer Prize in Music in 1979. He teaches at the Eastman School of Music. Internationally acknowledged as one of the premiere ensembles of its kind, the North Texas Wind Symphony is comprised of members selected from among the most outstanding musicians attending the University of North Texas College of Music.
