CD Reviews

Brilliant virtuoso flute music
klangfarbenguy | 10/21/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"So much here that is terrific. Brian Ferneyhough's Superscriptio is the *best* piccolo piece ever. Chris Dench's "Caught Breath of Time" combines stunning architecture with sensual surfaces. Michael Finnissy's "Ulpirra" is deep and penetrating. Jason Eckardt's "Multiplicities" is beautifully fragmented. James Dillon's "Sgothan" is a tour-de-force with an incredible singing/playing ending that must be heard to be believed. Nancy Ruffer's performances are exemplary."
