CD Reviews

Impressive...
Michael Hollibaugh | Petaluma, CA United States | 07/16/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I am trying to extend my horizons here and was turned on to this new (for me) sound. I usually listen to more experimental/brokenbeat/breakcore but this music is a vacation to my ears. Bubbly and clicky riddims lace this fun, head-nodable/dancable album. I HIGHLY reccommend this selection to ANYONE who wants something aside from the mainstream sewage that attracts the hordes. Try MRI's "All That Glitters" too! As usual, Force Inc makes 'em good."
The Germans Are Coming
Jeffrey D. Johnson | Albany, NY USA | 01/05/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"MRI is a relatively new outfit composed of Germans Frank Elting and Stephan Lieb, and this full length does an excellent job of establishing them in the current minimal tech-house scene. Most of the track on the album are over 8 minutes long and develop very well through dreamy chords, delayed synth-lines, deep bass, and quirky samples. Any fan of Basic Channel, Richie Hawtin, Theorem, Sutekh, Kit Clayton, Vladislav Delay, or Thomas Brinkmann will rank this album as a top of 2000."
AMBIEONIC DANCE FLO' MADNESS WITH CHILL APPEAL!!!!
Darrell L. Lee | Jackson, MS | 03/04/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Another outstanding CD from an unknown German duo who really know how to produce some damn good dance tracks. And although a few vocals could have been thrown into the mix for good measure, it really doesn't take away from the almost ambient beauty of this album. One throwing a party for his club-head friends could put this baby on repeat and not worry about changing out the music. EXXXXXXCELLENT!!!!"
