CD Reviews

An excellent album for any fan of Motorhead...

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This album contains some rare and unreleased tracks from the gods of Motorhead. The actuall recordings themselves are a little rough, they are diffently crunchy, but still sound good. The high spots for me where, Shoot you in the Back, Louie Louie, Like a Nightmare and The Hammer. It was nice to hear the roots of Motorhead and realize that everyone starts from somewhere. I recomend this album if you are either a loyal fan or want to hear some real vintage stuff. I wouldn't recomend this album if you don't like the distortions that analog tape can sound like on a CD."
Motorhead - 'Golden Years-Alternate Version' (Deadline)

"Sixteen tracks, with many of Motorhead's better songs, yet the alternate versions. The tunes I did notice the most difference in were "Stone Deaf Forever","The Hammer","Love Me Like A Reptile","We Are The Road Crew" and [...]. A couple of live cuts were thrown in for good measure, the band's namesake "Motorhead"(originally a Hawkwind song)and "Iron Horse".Basically, this CD is aimed toward Motorhead completists or maybe if for some shameful reason in the recent past you were forced to part with your beloved CD collection because, say you had to pay the rent, pay off your dealer or the girl of your dreams just dumped you and was holding your CD's for ransom, this'd be a good disc to hold you over until you were able to get your life back together."
