Synopsis

Album Description
As well as all over the globe, Monika Kruse is well known and much respected in Japan and is featured in regular showcases like the Wire Festival. Since then, Japan is one of her favorite countries to perform in. One thing that struck Monika about Japan is the Japanese "Megacities", especially Tokyo and Osaka with their overwhelming size, their velocity in daily routine, and their never-ending energy. Likewise one can still find quiet places where you can delve into the atmosphere of this ancient empire.
It was her aim that the listener experiences this duality in this mix CD, so her selection spreads from hard pushing tracks like "Pecan" from Microfunk or Audion's "Mouth To Mouth", to deep, melodic ones like Latex's "Porcupine" or "Machine Ate My Homework" from Gavin Herily.
As usual, Monika Kruse is a purist - she renounces Ableton Live or Traktor and just uses two decks to mix Electro, Minimal, and Techno in her own experienced style to get the authentic "club-feeling". Completing the CD is the new electro-tech hymn, "The Mad Real World" (Electro record of the month in Mixmag), so let's all hope Monika will embark upon further journeys!
