"For whatever reason, California's glorious Mojo Men never managed to hit the big time. Whether it was due to a lack of promotion or a perceived similarity to established acts or a failure of the record labels to capitalize on openings, or all the above (which is my belief), they never received their due. Oddly enough, while the Mojo Men remain obscure today, it seems they're still much more known today than during their own time.

Whatever. It happens - a truly great band like this one toiled in frustrating obscurity while far lesser acts reached top 10.

Anyway - this is a great cd. Consisting of (mainly) demos that never saw the light of day, it reveals a very gifted band effortlessly laying down fantastic tracks that in all rights should have been not only released but should have knocked the competition out of the top 5 charts of the day. One demo particularly stands out, 'Not For Me', albeit a sadly short and incomplete piece it still bloes their finished version out of the water. Ther's only one misstep here, 'Candy'. All else is amazing.

Buy this cd while you can.
