CD Reviews

I love this band...

"...In fact I love everything they have done. In a perfect world they would have major label, international distribution. This title, plus the previous "Bicycle Theives" and "Candids" are well written, artfully arranged, and beautifully executed. Yes, comparisons (Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera, Del Amitri, Sting...)are useful, but only to place them within a genre, as they don't sound like anyone else. When's the last time you bought a cd on a whim that totally surprised you and took over your life?"
WHY Hasn't This Band Been Recognized?

"There are too many bands these days. Too many of them are capable of just one or two decent tunes. And too many of them get major label deals. How many times have you raced out to buy a CD, only to find that it's all .... except for the one song that got airplay?Meanwhile, The Miracle Mile has released THREE flawless full-length albums, and no one's heard of them. This is criminal. "Slow Fade", the band's latest, is also their best - which is saying something, since their prior albums ("Bicycle Thieves" and "Candids") blew away just about everything else out there. Sweeter than Crowded House and wiser than Travis, The Miracle Mile makes the kind of music that anyone would love. It's hard to imagine a musical taste that wouldn't be sublimely seduced by singer-songwriter Trevor Jones' haunting, heartbreaking songs. Particularly since the musicianship on display puts the average hitmaker to shame. To listen to "Slow Fade" for the first time is to make a shattering discovery. If you love brilliant, tuneful pop writing, buy this CD. Then get all your friends to buy it. This kind of perfection needs our support."
