CD Reviews

Still one of my favorites
Justin Gaines | 12/31/2001

"I have had the CD for over a half year now, and it is still one of my favorite all time rock CDs. Everything about this one is huge; the production, musicianship and the great melodies. If you are tired of the Nirvana, Blink 182 no talent singers and musicians that have pretty much wiped rock out as a popular music form, then check this one out. I love playing this CD for my grunged out friends. They can't believe how talented these guys are. After listening to Linkin Park, Staind, etc., I guess any one who practiced guitar beyond the intro level would sound like a virtuso..."
If you wanna Rock, come and get it

"Well, what can I say, if you want to move your head with the Hard Rock's rythm, you gotta buy this CD.

Just with the first song you get submerged in a world of amazing choirds, brilliant guitards and a voice that is right now, and in my opinion, the banner of the Rock-Metal scene: Jorn Lande.

This guy is just a box full of surprises. In other albums you hear him singing as a power metal guy, then as a Hardrocker, no words for that.

The production is reaaaaally good (as usual with these guys) and I'm sure you won't find any complaint in this spotless album.

Doesn't matter what kind of music you listen, this album is gonna get you from the first second and it won't let you go until you break your vocal cords singing like hell. Good stuff."
Great melodic rock CD featuring the mighty Jorn Lande
Justin Gaines | Northern Virginia | 04/20/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Melodic hard rock band Millenium has always had a bit of a revolving door lineup, with founding guitarist Ralph Santolla (ex-Death, Iced Earth) as the only constant. The lineup changes paid off on the band's 2000 album Hourglass, which featured Don Airey (Rainbow, Ozzy, Whitesnake) on keyboards and vocals by none other than Jorn Lande (ARK, Masterplan, and about a hundred other projects).

Hourglass is a first-rate melodic rock album with a heavier edge. Comparisons to Rainbow and Whitesnake are inevitable given Don Airey's presence and the fact that Jorn sometimes sounds more like David Coverdale than David Coverdale does. Jorn Lande is one of the most dynamic and powerful vocalists in the genre, and his presence alone takes the band to a higher level. Comparison's to Jorn's solo albums are appropriate as well. In fact, Ralph Santolla played guitar on Jorn's Starfire album.

Hourglass should appeal to just about anyone who is into the melodic hard rock sound. Jorn Lande fans in particular should add this album to their collections. Unfortunately this is the only Millenium album with Lande on vocals, aside from a couple of tracks on a Best of Millenium collection."
