Synopsis

Album Description
Here's what Mike Pachelli says of his 1998 release: 1. Song of Peace - Double tracked acoustic guitar w/vocals, mellow and uplifting tune. End section goes into 3/4 time guitar sonata with triple tracked violin played by Patty Pfister. 2. Wales - Droning yet contemplative wide arpeggiated acoustic guitar w/vocals, electric guitar fills - melodic and inventive - middle section is very orchestral w/synthesizers but still has an acoustic guitar main theme. 3. Don't Stop - Acoustic guitar strummer duet with Phil Keaggy. Main theme is reminescent of McCartney's "Another Day." Phil and I trade lead vocal duties and sing harmony on the chorus. Keaggy plays absolutley perfect electric guitar harmony double lines throughout. Very positive message and this song is destined for Christian radio airplay. 4. England - Solo classical guitar piece written the day Lady Di was killed. Introspective tune with English anthem themematic overtones. 5. Songbird - Acoustic guitar w/vocals. Written for my daughter Sarah. Tender and loving just like her. 6. Meaning of Life - Electric/acoustic guitar groover w/pop vocals and harmonies. First traditional rock group setting on the cd. Great 60's Fuzz face distortion on the choruses. This is a real toe-tapper with a message. 7. Real Clean Heart - First all electric guitar song and vocal. Delta blues with slide guitar lead and a bit of comedic relief in the lyric. Very soulful thanks to Lance Abair on organ. The tone of the Marshall on the guitar solo is purr-fect! 8. Austin - The best electric instrumental I've ever recorded. Pays homage to Texas with a legato wide-stretched melody line, clean jazzy solo and includes a bit of Eric Johnson-ish melodica. My fave on the cd. 9. Love So Pure - Rocker with Phil Keaggy and I doing our best Lennon & McCartney impression ala "From Me To You," with an "And I Love Her Chorus," and a "Rain" middle section. 10. Livin' In Jesus - Funky 'lil number in the style of "Very Superstitious." But the lyric spells out exactly how I'm living. 11. For Now, Forever - Steve Bussey from GeoSynchronous Records says the main lick reminds him of 38 Special (a band I know nothing about) but to me it's just a rocker. The middle section is an extended Glass Harp-type jam. Rock choir type background vocals add to the punch. 12. The Way - Acoustic piano based ballad. My tribute to our Lord for my salvation through Jesus. Carla Painter did a marvelous job tickling those ivories. 13. For Those In Heaven - Solo electric guitar volume pedal piece ala/Alan Holdsworth. Wide-wide voicings - a finger contortionists' delight that I practiced until I could play it perfectly.
