"Mike James Kirkland's "Hang On In There" has often been described as an "underground" equivalent of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On". Both albums have a great many similarities and areas of commonality. "What Have We Done", "Where Is The Soul Of Man" and "The Prophet" are the album's masterpieces. Originally released in 1971 on the tiny California-based Bryan label."
