They've done it again!
Illya Szwec | Australia | 01/09/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Soul, funk, boogaloo, tunes from Motown, Chicago, and the streets of Sydney, slow blues, frantic James Brown-style workouts. If you're into any of the styles above, then check this out!Curtis Mayfield's 'We're Rolling On', Jnr Walker's 'Shotgun', the blues classic 'Cold Cold Feeling', a guest contribution from LA blues great Margie Evans (on 3 self-penned tracks), and some great grooves courtesy of frontman/vocalist/harmonica player Continental Robert Susz and guitarist/vocalist Dave Brewer (his instrumental, 'The Shunkle' has been the theme for a radio program I've hosted for the past 10 years) make for a nice choice of songs. The playing is great: Dave Brewer KILLS IT on guitar, Continental Robert, always the style-master, plays tasteful harp, the Hammond is swirling away courtesy of Rob Woolf, while Vito Portolesi (bass), Antero Ceschin (drums) and Sammila Sithole (congas) lay the grooves down. There's also a bit of added spice via the Rufus Horns (trumpet, trombone, tenor sax).Is geography relevant? These guys are from Australia!"
