Synopsis

Album Description
The Mighty Lemon Drops were one of the leading lights of the Independent pop scene in the UK in the mid 80's. This 19 track 'Best Of' collection is the ultimate collection of the band who are still favorites on the US college scene where the band achieved genuine sales success. They were featured on the now legendary NME sponsored compilation 'C-86'. The CD features all the bands best known tracks from their first single 'Like An Angel' & subsequent 7' classics 'Into The Heart Of Love', 'Other Side Of You', 'My Biggest Thrill', 'Beautiful Shame', 'Out Of Hand', 'Inside Out' & 'Fall Down'. Other band favorites on the CD include 'Happy Head', 13th Floor Elevators' classic 'Splash #1' & the title track 'Rollercoaster'. The CD booklet features a complete discography incorporating all the original front cover sleeves & a written introduction by the band of each of the songs on the album & from where the tracks were

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I haven't heard this band mentioned by anyone in ten years, but if you liked them then, you'll love this now. It's a pretty good 19 track collection that includes most of what should be here. If I could throw on more, I'd add something else from "Laughter", like "Second Time Around" or "One In A Million". But, there's so much good stuff here, it's hard to complain. If you're a fan of bands like "Trash Can Sinatras" or "The Ocean Blue", you should like this. Fans of "The Mighty Lemon Drops" should love it."
