CD Reviews

Don't quite know how to describe it...

(5 out of 5 stars)

"First of all let me say my experience with this bands music is limited. I saw them for the first (and so far only) time back in July when they played at the Smell. I had actually gone to see another band, and was just killing time until they went on. I had heard of MLB before, but from what I was told I wasn't holding my breathe about them being any good. So I watched their set, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I noted that they would be releasing another ablum soon and decided to get it when it came out. I finally got the CD yesterday, and I have to say I really like it. It has solid lyrics; the sound is lush and layered; the vocals are distorted, but not enough that unintelligable. But I'm sitting here, and I really don't know how to properly explain or describe it. On their labels website it describes it 'as songs that almost drug you' (or something like that) and I think that is the best description. And it's a great album to listen to late at night when you're driving around by yourself. That's about the best I can do. Buy the album...it's $10, and you won't be dissapointed."
