Synopsis

Product Description
At this point in his career, Michael Wolff has realized what is really important. He made 'Zenith' with the intention of expressing himself in the purest and truest way possible, and the songs reflect his vision with a no-nonsense clarity. In this album, Wolff channels the pianists he was first introduced to as a child (Ray Charles, Count Basie, George Shearing and Oscar Peterson) with his later-in-life influences of Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett. Michael's music has of course been shaped by the non-pianist musicians he has played with throughout his career, like Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins and Nancy Wilson. The covers on this album reflect both modern and old school influences such as Sufjan Stevens, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and more. 'Zenith' portrays the perfect balance between old and new.
