Michael Stanley's Best Album Since MSB Days
07/07/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is truly Michael Stanley's best album since his glory days, and much tighter than "Coming Up for Air." "Endgame" has one of the best hooks you're likely to hear anywhere, and if you're not already a Stanley fan, one listen to this album will have you searching for his past titles. Usually fans go to Stanley's live performances to hear his 1980s classics, but this album will have even die-hard, old school fans cheering for these new tunes."

"This is a solid album from Michael. Having lived in the Cleveland area most of my life, I have heard most of Michaels bigger songs and have been to see him in concert but I never bought one of his albums until I heard the first single, Factory Man, from Eighteen Down.
After listening to the album for the first time I was hooked. Several of the songs are very good "rockers" like Factory Man but this album shows Michael's range of ability in songwriting and/or singing and the album ranges from fun to serious with my favorite song being "Downstream."
There was only one song on this album that I didn't care for, and that was the re-make of Eleanor Rigby. Michael says it himself in the liner notes that he knew he was treading on sacred ground. I do not like to hear Beatles re-makes as I prefer the Beatles as they were originally done by John, Paul, George and Ringo. So if you are looking for a good solid album with only one weak link, this is a great album from Michael and I would strongly recommend it!!"
