"I have been a big band fan for most of my life and may I please say that this cd is a must for you fans out there. I have no choice, but to rate this cd as one of the best big band cds out there.For this cd, Michael choose a super repertoire to perform. Most of the songs offered here were my persoanl favorites. Wow! What a great collection of tunes.As for as the arranging duties go, whoever arranged these songs did a very, very good job. The arrangements are lively and well thought out. They offer a rather fresh approach to this music.Michael, thanks so much for this great cd. I would like to see you release more cds with your great big band.Recommendation: This cd will not disappoint you the big band fan. Please buy this cd!"

"Regardless of what anyone else says or writes, I really enjoy listening to this CD at work and in the car. I was simply looking for a CD with a nice mix of the better known big band tunes and this CD fills that bill. I agree with the other reviewers that it's big band with a slightly more up-to-date style, yet not too much so it loses the authentic big band sound. In response to the critics, nowhere is this CD being toted as "swing". And for solos, did you listen to "String of Pearls"? It does have a trumpet solo. It's not a three minute solo, but it's there. I'm sure there are better big band CDs out there, however, I think this one is pretty darn good for those of us that are less demanding."

"Outstanding! Not only is this a great band, but this recording is extremely well produced which gives it a "today" sound. It sure beats listening to CD's derived from 60 year old master tapes. I hope Michael produces another one with such tunes as Leap Frog, No Name Jive, etc. Buy it!"
