CD ReviewsBest of it's type-boogie woogie Paul Waller | Huntington Beach, California | 02/20/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "I Thought " The Blues Piano Artistry of Meade Lux Lewis" was one of my all time favorites, but this has much more including some great clips Lewis played for cartoons in the 40's, also the sound is beautifully cleaned up, about 26 cuts of pure music, some of the intros are a little bothersome, but can be avoided by programing your CD player. Except for the missing celeste cuts on the Blues Piano Artistry album, this has it in spades, including multiple versions of the same cut showing Lewis's skills, which equals Ammons and Johnson if not surpassing them."
