CD ReviewsCD title slightly misleading AreTee in New York | NY, NY, NY | 10/09/2008 (3 out of 5 stars) "The CD title can easily be misconstrued: If you're looking for original recordings of Gavin Bryars' early compositions, particularly the ones made for Brian Eno's Obscure label, these are not those. The Marvellous Aphorisms of Gavin Bryars: The Early Years is a contemporary (2007) recording of four pieces he conceived and composed in 1970 and 1971. And the work "1,2,1-2-3-4" heard here bears no relationship, except perhaps in concept, to the "1,2,1-2-3-4" which was released on Eno's label for the Ensemble Pieces collection in 1975."
