"I would have to agree with Jeff G.'s review and his eloquent description of a unique artist. I like Satriani, Eric Johnson, Petrucci and others, but to my ears, Dave Martone is so creative while at the same time time, so easy to listen to. I love his crunchy chords but also his more delicate side. This is fantastic hard rock, soft rock, instrumental, jazzy, country, "move-your-body" music. This album reminds me a bit of Freak Kitchen's description of their third album (also highly reccommended)- ""A corny little heavy-pop-rock-latin-world-jazz-avant-garde-metal-blues-record". Maybe not exactly, but this CD is so creative and good.

Pulverizing instrumental rock guitar--Yowza!!

"Dave Martone is a guitar monster. If there was a duel between him and Godzilla, he'd reduce the giant reptile to a sniveling gecko trapped under a hobnailed boot. Dave combines techno beats, Middle Eastern inflections, wacked-out blues rhythms, jazzy interludes, groovy disco thrusts, crunchy metal riffs, and flamenco stylings all into one wicked, inspired mish-mash. Kind of like a gumbo of every awesome guitar player you've heard from every genre of music, only mashed through a blender. Dave Martone has the feel of Hendrix, the craziness of Vai, the technical chops of Petrucci, and the insanity of Buckethead after a lightning bolt turned his Kentucky Fried Chicken hat into a smoking chimney that incinerated his medulla oblongata. Every song is creative, unpredictable, and a generous display of his brilliant mastery of the instrument. Listening to it in my car gives me non-stop adrenaline rushes and almost makes me plow into the median. I prefer Dave over other intrumental rock guitarists because he takes risks and ventures into unchartered sonic territory. He's also a humble, awesome guy who's grateful for the support he receives. I just wish blasting his CDs didn't warp so many of my speakers. Also, the looks I tolerate from more conservative folks who don't like the sound of his maniacal solos wailing from my car windows are quite discouraging...especially when they clutch their chests and appear to be having a massive coronary attack..."
