Goonan | Pleasanton, CA | 01/10/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is not my favorite Mark Anderson album, but it is very good! Mark has the unique ability to cross over styles and lives and breathes the music. There is a nice balance between exceptional technique and emotional expression. As Stan Getz once said, "I never played a note I didn't mean,"... this applies to Mark's playing as well.
If you like this album, I also highly recommend that check out Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition; Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring. This is my favorite recording by this artist who I have seen in concert along with Tamriko. They are both exceptional and together they are a real force!" |
