Italian reissue of the jazz artist's 1966 recording for ESP. Brown was a key figure in the '60s free jazz movement & an integral collaborator on two of the most significant avant-garde jazz recordings of the '60s, 'Ascension' with John Coltrane & 'Fire Music' with Archie Shepp. For this release he collaborates with Norris Jones (bass), Stan Cowell (piano) & Coletrane's longstanding sideman Rashid Ali (drums). The quartet burns through four of Brown's compositions which are among the most rigorous, lyrical & evocative displays of improvisation mastery of the era.
