CD Reviews

The Quintessential Live Louis Prima
Lani Akers | Portland, OR USA | 01/28/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I grew up on this great album - the sure-fire party liven-er! This was the record my parents put on when people started to loosen up and they wanted to get everyone dancing. My parents saw Louis Prima live a few times, and they swear this album is the closest thing to their live show - you can feel the energy!"
GREAT jump swing lp reissue!
Eagle-Knows | Brea, CA | 11/26/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Classic Prima lp reissued on cd! The Wildest is a classic of the unique New Orleans Gand, which was essenrially Prima, Keely Smith, Sam Butera & The Witnesses, playing a brand of rock'n'roll meets New Orleans, Dixieland, swing, and honking rhythm & blues! Or as Will Friedwald has stated Rock'n'roll for adults! Great fun party music, swing dancers will love the original Jump'Jibe'N'Wail! Every track is a gem! A wild cd!!! Check out Louis Prima's Italian sounding almost black sounding Louis Armstrong vocal impressions, and Sam Butera's wild honking sax solos, and Keely's almost Ella Fiztgerald like vocals! Man it's wild stuff!"
Brings back the memories.
Alfred James Phillips | Battle Creek, MI USA | 01/18/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Brings back memories from an age when music was kind and happy. But this CD is also wild enought for todays discriminating listener. A great combination when Keely and Louis were at their best."
