The 2001 Dance Album

"Just as I felt Louie DeVitos NYC Underground vol. 3 was sort of a year 2000 dance music "yearbook", I think vol. 4 of this series is the perfect compilation of great dance music from 2001. This is the perfect CD to get a party on its feet and have everyone dancing. The album kicks off with "Derb", a nice pounding track that is only improved upon by VooDoo and Serano's "Blood is Pumpin" - a great track seen on many 2001 trance / house CDs. I love track 6, "Without You". It's great trance with awesome male vocals (not usually typical in trance, but it sounds great). Track 7 "Ladies and Gentlemen" is the next great track which is mixed perfectly into the beginning of the Thunderpuss track which follows it - another nice one. Part of that track sounds just like the Imperial March from Star Wars - pretty cool. My favorite track on the CD is Aubrey's "Stand Still". Great female vocals on this one and an awesome sound - mixed flawlessly. There is really not a bad track on this album. If you're looking for a CD with all the top dance music from 2001, I strongly recommend purchasing this album. If you have been to any dance club that spins techno lately, you've probably heard most of the tracks on this CD. It's for that reason I don't understand the "Underground" title... this stuff is pretty "Aboveground", but it's "Aboveground" for a reason - all sounds awesome. If you're looking for a darker, "underground", sort of experimental sound, I recommend the "Global Underground" series instead."

"DJ Louie Devito once again tops himself. NYC Underground Party V4 is the finest yet. Every song is a smash, and the mixing is next to none. My faves are Jessica Folker "To be Able to Love" and Digital Allies "Without You". V4 is truly a feel good album with high energy and unstoppable beats. Don't Miss the album, it is guaranteed to debut in the Billboard top 20!"
