CD Reviews

Great Live Jams
Peter Smith | 02/10/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Lotus does an amazing job in this live album. All the tunes are upbeat and continuously changing. I highly recommend this album if you are into progressive, instrumental music."
Amazing All around album

"When I got this cd a few months ago I could not stop listening to it, and now I still cannot get enough. Lotus live is a totally different experience than their studio stuff, they are more of a jam band than the trance-jam band they are in the studio-- give this cd a listen to if you you like jam bands"
Mind-blowing fusion jamming.

"i've been a fan of jam bands in their various sub-genres (jamtronica, southern rock, funk, the dead, etc.) for almost ten years. i'm a deadhead first and foremost, but i love all kinds of jam bands. only recently however had i discovered this kind of jam band. it's hard to describe lotus simply because there's really not a similar sound out there. particle comes kind of close, but it's not a real comparison.

this is really great music, simply put. this is a live show, and the jamming is deep and cohesive; some acts get a little too "out there" with the jams and have a hard time getting back into the groove, but lotus has seemingly perfected the formula. the best way i could describe the general sound and jam style would be a sort of meeting of phish and particle, maybe disco biscuits. but these guys really have it down. in fact, i would say the guitarist has at least as much talent as trey from phish. case in point: the wooly mammoth jam. these guys absolutely get down.

5 stars and 2 thumbs up for one kickass album."
