Synopsis

Product Description
Very Tiny Songs, Logan Whitehurst s final work, contains 81 mini-masterpieces, each clocking in at about a minute. This album s songs, which were written and recorded in a scant 6 weeks, are almost all inspired by suggestions solicited from friends and fans on the internet. The follow is an excerpt from Dr. Demento's liner notes: "Let us praise huge works of art. The Sphinx. 'War and Peace.' Murals. 'Gone With The Wind.' 'As Slow As Possible' by John Cage, which takes 639 years to perform. Let us also praise tiny works of art. Netsuke. Haiku. Dollhouse paintings. 'Bambi Meets Godzilla.' And now, Logan Whitehurst's 'Very Tiny Songs.' Tininess can easily be as rewarding as hugeness, and is much less tiresome to comprehend. When you have comprehended a huge artwork in its entirety, you pat yourself on the back for getting through it all, and head out for a beer, or anything that will divert your mind from all that hard labor. When you have comprehended a tiny work of art, you want to comprehend it again and again, savoring the succinctness of it all, luxuriating in its gorgeous tiny details. Such is the magic of Logan Whitehurst's 'Very Tiny Songs.'"

A Parting Treasure of Joy for the World

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is one of the happiest and most entertaining cd's that you will have in your collection. Apparently he wrote these songs while trying to fight off brain cancer. Because he wasn't healthy enough to compose long songs he asked his fans to send in song ideas and he would write a bunch of short songs. I sadly found out about his music after he had passed on, but I am very proud to live in the same area as such a positive and upbeat person. It is also great to know that there are such fun loving people as his fans out there who contributed to this cd. If you are overwhelmed by global warming, the crisis in Darfur or just man's inhumanity to man put this cd on and have your hope and humour restored. If "Schweepies" or "Bonebeard the Dinosaur" don't cure your ills then as the old jazz tune says: "Jack you Dead.""
