Product Description

Little Scream is, like her moniker suggests, full of contradictions. It is at once both familiar and foreign; weaving multiple genres into a sparkly and Jovian landscape. Nowhere is the Martian and sublunary contrast more present than in two of The Golden Record's standouts, "Cannons" and "The Heron and the Fox". While conjuring visions of receiving signals and painting portals through space over celestial echoes and otherworldly buzzes, "The Heron and the Fox" recalls a more terrestrial sound while recounting an intense yearning and lamentation of salad days through a quiet, painful present.

The first track, "The Lamb", is what led me to this CD, having heard it as part of a film or tv show sound track, (don't remember where). I could have purchased just the song itself, knowing I had to have it as part of my collection, but I took a chance on buying the entire CD, just in case there was another track that hit me the right way. As it turned out, there were four tracks I decided to keep.

Alternately ethereal and raucous, ala Bjork's "Vespertine", this is a seriously eclectic album. Nobody is likely to enjoy the entire track list. But the first five tracks made it worth the cost.
