A true World Music project from World Rock producer/songwriter Ema and traditional Mi'kmaq musician/storyteller Little Hawk that seamlessly merges Native American and South African styles, instruments and sensibilities to produce rich musical textures and a deeply spiritual experience. The project is the result of a "throw-down" style marathon session in the studio in which the two artists came together, spread out their respective instruments all over the studio and proceeded to engage in a series of improvised performances - randomly grabbing instruments and "jumping in" as the spirit moved them. "Relative" is all at once sonically stunning and spiritually uplifting. This is a unique and deeply transcendent offering to both the ancestors and the living as a testimonial to music as one of the most powerful universal threads that bind us all regardless of our cultures.
