"Deep grooves, rich instrumentation and sunny vocals make up Lisa Deveaux's debut release SHAKIN' THAT JAZZ. The project features some of Smooth Jazz's finest players including saxophonist Everette Harp, pianist Bobby Lyle, vocalist Carl Anderson and violinist Karen Briggs. The Chicago-native pursued her music skills and education at Florida A&M University and at the prestigious Herbert Burghoff Studios in New York (Ms. Deveaux holds a BA in entertainment management and musical theatre). Armed with talent and education, she headed for Hollywood hoping to make a difference and that she has... Since her arrival in the City of the Angels, Lisa Deveaux has sung back up with legendary artists such as Barry White and Phyllis Hyman (who became her mentor), and now she's released her very first solo CD, SHAKIN' THAT JAZZ. Filled with classy, cool and romantic contemporary jazz, the breezy new CD spotlights the artist's knack for sophisticated arrangements and strong melodies. "Lazy Monday Afternoon" takes you on a moody island get-away, while the kickin' cover of "Wanna Be Where You Are" gets your groove on, be sure to check out the Everette Harp enhanced, "First Time," as well as the [...] pick "Second Nature" featuring Bobby Lyle and we also love the duet with Carl Anderson, "By Design." Stay in touch with the artist's website this summer for play dates in Southern California to see her unique brand of Smooth Jazz up close and personal. Go Lisa Deveaux! ~Sandy Shore"
Simply A Great Album of Quality jazzy Flavours

"I love this album and for a self financed and promoted independent release this is how to do it, with quality songs, excellent musicianship and great vocals. Lisa Deveaux really shines on this album from the opening number Lazy Monday Afternoon, you know you are in for a aural treat and she does not disappoint. It's quality all the way as she takes us on a musical journey that in my mind ends just a little bit too soon but I'd prefer 9 goods songs than an album of fillers, which this album isn't. Great jazzy flavoured vocals makes me wonder what she'd be like with an acoustic trio, now I am starting to drool. Anita Baker make room as their a new singer in town and she goes by the name of Lisa Deveaux and she's a real gem. Buy this album you won't be sorry in fact you'll very glad you did."
