"This disc is a wonderful compilation of some of Lionel Hamptons best 40's big band sides. Most of these feature Lionels rockin vibes as well as hot saxophone courtesy of Illinois Jaquet or Arnett Cobb. this band could rock. The band would get in a groove and just wail away. They were one of the most exciting big bands of the era.These sides will show why."
