Astounding Debut Album
Peter Proctor | Hinckley, England | 10/30/2005

"Male, gay, 32 and I absolutely love Lindsay!!

My neice was watching the 'Confessions of . . .' while I was using my mothers PC and I was back and forth from the TV to the PC and eventually sat down with her and watched it until the end! I downloaded a few songs and from there bought the album.

All the tracks are 100% fab, but I love Rumours, Magnet, To Know Your Name and Speak.

I hope she will release another album and it's just as impressive."

"Speak ---- The Debut Album from actress Lindsay Lohan... where to begin? Well I was surprised! First off I bought the domestic version; which only has 11 songs. Then I saw the JAPANESE LIMITED EDITION! I didn't hesitate to buy it! This version is way better. It includes "MAGNET", RUMORS [SHARP BOYS REMIX RADIO EDIT], OVER [FULL PHATT REMIX] all of these songs are not included in the normal domestic version. But now to review the whole album.

Well my surprise was that this girl can sing, decently but she can sing.

The first song to open the album is "FIRST" (also featured in the DISNEY movie "HERBIE:FULLY LOADED") here she belts out to some boyfriend of hers that she "wanna come first!"

Then comes...

"Nobody 'Till You" here she sings about how she believes in love in her partner.

"Symptoms Of You" this song is really nice especially the piano/keyboard cos you feel she is singing from the heart.

"Speak" is more raunchy...more daring. Great dance song too.

"Over" this is one of my favorites from the album.

"Something I Never I Had" another favorite... This is like a love letter to a crush "call your number I cannot get through, you dont hear me and I dont understand when I reach out I dont find your hand"

"Anything But Me" talks about how some parents or people dont like her.

"Disconnected" here she sings how she feels strange and somethings dont go right sometimes, how sometimes you feel you're the only bad luck receiver.

"To Know Your Name" talks about love... in the spotlight. "Can't the boys with the zoom's give a girl just a second? see the man that I love needs a little sweet attention?"

"Very Last Moment In Time" this is my favorite song of the album. Really great.

"Magnet" this is a hot song! Here she sings about how she likes a guy but she doesn't know why.

"Rumors" you'll have heard it. "Why can't they back up off me? Why can't they let me live?"

"Rumors [Sharp Boys Remix Radio Edit" this remix is good but I think It could've been better. You can't really dance to it like the original song or the remixes from the RUMORS single but it's still good.

"OVER [Full Phatt Remix]" This remix is really good and you can also dance to it but it feels weird cos the voice is like from a more angry ballad but it's still great.

OVER ALL... THE ALBUM IS GOOD! SOME PEOPLE MIGHT NOT LIKE IT...ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T LIKE MUSIC BUT FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO LOVE MUSIC AND HAVE A WIDE VARIETY OF CDS/ALBUMS WILL REALLY LIKE IT... I LOVE THE WHOLE ALBUM."
Good Version of Her First

"I recently read that no one knows music packaging like the Japanese, I have to agree with each import I buy. The presentation is VERY cool. As for this version of her cd I like all the extra tracks. (yet another thing about Japan releases I like) Lindsay's initial cd is a solid pop performance all the way through, the girl has it. (actual musical talent) It will be interesting to see if her 2nd cd is released in another version in Japan. "Magnet" is also on the UK release of this disc. It's cool but if you are totally happy with the U.S. version I don't think it alone is enough to throw down for this cd. If you are shopping for her first cd and don't yet own one...go for this one."
