Bayou Blues Lives Here!

"You can almost hear the frogs croakin' and the gators bellerin' in this one. If you are a fan of the '50s era Excello singles, then your search has ended! This is what's in here, all digitally remastered to perfection. A very good production, and the disc even has the original Excello label in the center! Groovy! Takes me right back to my childhood(heavy on the "hood") days in North Louisiana, during the hay days of, "Ernies Record Mart. Nashville Tenn."Quintessential swamp blues, by the King of the Swamp Blues: Mr. Lightnin' Slim!Accept no substitutes!"

"These are some of Slim's finest recordings. A collection of Excello singles on one CD, they are excellent in quality. He was the master of swamp blues and this CD really proves that. It's not Delta, it's not Memphis, it's not Piedmont, what the heck is it? It's SWAMP BLUES MAN!"

"An excellent example of what a Blues album should be, Rooster Blues showcases the fine vocals and amazing guitar playing of Lightnin' Slim. An upbeat array of songs (including 3 bonus tracks not on the original LP) that will have you tapping your feet and singing along. This is a great album to listen to right after waking up, and is an outstanding representative as to how life affirming the Blues can be. I can't recommend this enough."
