"Leslie West is playing better than ever. Plain and simple. Catch Mountain live next time they come to your town. and since the mid 90's, Leslie has been releasing a string of solo albums, which to me seem to be getting better and better. This compilation is taken from 4 of his albums on the Blues Bureau label and feature Leslie covering mostly blues classics and a few rock tunes too. Done Leslie style of course. Heavy rhythm guitar work and some of the nastiest solos he's ever put on wax. And as an added bonus you get a absolutely ripping version of Robert Johnsons classic "crossroads", which Leslie features often in Mountain performances.Although Mountain still releases the occasional studio album,it's on these blues albums where Leslie really shines. When many other artists of his generation have mellowed to the point of boredom, Leslie is still playing with passion and fire. Long live the Mountain king!!"
